  Family friendly camping in a beautiful area. Came here for a father's and sons camp. Will return.

  This backward town in the middle of nowhere has a strong "Gold ol Boy" network to deal with visitors. I was visiting a family friend yesterday. I had my dog with me since it was cool out and the sun had gone down. I parked in front of our friend's house, put the windows down for my dog, and visited our friend. A few hours later I opened the front door and my car with my baby inside was gone! I had a panic attack because I knew my rescue dog would be terrified. We called the police (they don't have 911, not surprising) amd I told the woman what happened. Eventually I got transferred to a man who told me they towed my car because "your car was parked on the street". It was a bizarre answer but I just wanted to get my baby back so I didn't ask him anything else at that time. They transferred me again, this time to the tow company so I could get my car back (for a fee!). All I had was a debit card but thankfully my friend's bank was nearby. My friend had to pay $100 "tow fee" to get my car back. After what seemed like hiurs, I found my scared, cowering, thirsty dog on tge floorboard of my car. He has not been right since. I asked the tow guy why did the police call him and he said because I parked on the street. There were no signs of any kind for miles where I parked. I said "can't you park on the street in this town?" and he said yes. I said "wasn't I on the curb correctly? He said "you were parked fine". So I said "then why did you tow my car?" And I swear to god he said: "because the police told me to. It is disturbing how corrupt this town must be from the top to the bottom, in order for something this messed up to happen. I live in the same county a few towns away. My father is a respected former District Attorney. I am so ashamed and shocked at Clio law enforcement and government. Something really nasty must be going on in Clio for the complete town government to get so corrupted. The hottest places in hell are reserved for Clio officials who have perfectly parked cars towed and have innocent dogs terrified for hours, for no reason. Keep your family, company, and money out of unwelcoming, middle of nowhere Clio, Alabama.
